Many, maybe most of Fido users still had the older modems on Docsis 3.0 which do not use OFDM and may be more 'stable' in your area.
Whatever the reason, it better not stop working during the daytime since I and other family members WFH. I just assume Rogers was doing some kind of maintenance work or something as it only happens between midnight and the time before dawn.

Thankfully, never happened during the day. My nest doorbell reported being disconnected. Never happened when on Fido home internet, though they are the same company.
I can’t guarantee that this is the issue that you have, however, I was having the same issue, I could see gaps of hours on my nest doorbell, the connection was unstable at certain points of my house (you can only really see this if you do something such as cloud gaming). After doing several tests (A LOT) the issue was related to the wifi channel, turns out that you cannot change the channel manually or make any other changes, I decided to just buy my own router, set the one from Rogers in bridge mode and problem solved.
I couldn’t get more than 500-600 mbps before, after that, I get almost the full gigabit, consistently and it doesn’t drop, I am quite happy with the service, nothing to complain about.

My problem is not wifi as I always use the modem in bridge mode (both Fido and now Rogers modem). I've been using a router and mesh wifi for years. This is definitely a Rogers problem. The ASUS router cannot get a WAN IP.

It's all about timing. Rogers had a price increase on February 13, 2023. The next one will probably be in the fall.

So signed up a few weeks ago for 1.5. Was on Fido 150. Got new XB7 modem. Couldn’t get more than 400-500 total bandwidth, wired and wifi individually or combine with multiple devices. Usually at 300ish. Tech came out last Sunday. Replaced outside green box wiring, outside house wiring, removed in house amplifier from prev install at panel, changed cable from wall to modem, and modem to XB8. Got 600 when he was here max. He said physical limitations due to neighborhood wiring. So you get less than half of what they’re advertising. Also had a few drops since. And mostly 500 now total bandwidth. Same outcome on bridge mode with mesh wifi. Not happy so FYI.
Edit: just tested now, maxing out at 400 total bandwidth.

Went through rogers chat and got the deal. Along with 6 months free of Disney Plus. They also offered me cellphone plans 5GB for $40.

I read above someone got $39.99 but couldn’t get it. Was offered $44.99 but then Bell price matched it. My current plan is 1.5gb for $60 with Bell.

What kind of router are you using? I've always had poor bandwidth with the built in router with these models. Always used bridge mode, I was also on Fido 150 but using an Asus RTAC68U, when I switched to 1.5gb with Rogers I got poor speeds with that router. Just switched to a RTAX86U and speeds are great. I can get max if AIprotection is switched off.

Just call again at a different time or day, sometimes the number goes down.

Anybody know if the discount applies on the first bill? Or 2nd bill or even the 3rd bill? I was told by Zedd agent, that the first bill will be weird. But I just got the 2nd bill and it's 114.99+ tax.
Will need to call Zedd again..

Got a cold call from a third-party "Bell" rep yesterday, pushing for the same deal.

The discount is effective immediately, which is why the first bill is "weird" for most people. You prepay a month in advance for internet, so unless your switch date and billing date happen to line up, your first bill will have the usual charges for the upcoming month at the new rate, but then it will also have a reversal of the old rate and charges for the new rate back to the date you switched to the new plan. Assuming your old plan was more expensive than the new plan, this will result in a smaller bill (eg my first bill was $35 instead of $50)
So if you're seeing $114.99, I agree you definitely need to call Zedd again.

I got the deal for 44.99 and am trying to switch from Bell FTTH. The issue is my Rogers installer tried to get my FTTH setup working, but it seems that the line coming into my home is connected to the neighborhood node which is not connected to the main node or something. He said that it might take a week or two for them to come in and hook it up. Not sure if hes just pulling this out of his ass. Has anyone with Rogers FTTH have to deal with installation issues? Ill call back an reschedule again I guess!

Was able to call Zedd today but he said that $44.99 promotion is not available and can get me 1.5GBPS for $65.99 for 2 years contract! I denied as don't want contract.
My area is getting the Bell fiber installed soon so will check later on if I can get better deal.
